The very large house (299 m² ground area) was built in 2004 in excellent quality and combines the advantages of Canarian building tradition with modern construction. The typical Canarian style, in which each building has its own hipped roof, combined with thick natural stone walls, was taken up and further developed using the concrete grid construction customary today. The compartments were constructed in double-shell construction, the outer shell is mostly made of domestic blue basalt, which is characterised by its excellent storage effect; the concrete columns ensure greater elasticity and crack resistance of the building structures.
The roof trusses were constructed in the traditional way, but made of Morera hardwood and ventilated and insulated in addition to the visible 20 mm thick planking made of this wood. All these measures, combined with the low sea level of 465 metres above sea level, ensure that the house hardly ever needs to be heated or cooled. For these cases a chimney with glass door is available for the cosiness in the living room. The centre of the house is composed by this very large and high living room with sea view, which is adjoined by the half-open dining kitchen. The kitchen is built of high quality and practical solid wood and offers everything you would expect from a modern kitchen. This is joined by the semi-open, slightly elevated dining room, which can accommodate eight people.
A separate TV room and a study offer a lot of space, even if one still has to pursue a professional activity. The quiet area is divided into four bedrooms and two daylight bathrooms (one with bathtub, one with shower and bidet), as well as a guest toilet. It also houses a dressing room. Of course, there is also a pantry and a utility room, which are rarely found here. The building is in excellent condition. There is also a very large workshop in the main building.
