Do you love the magnificent view of the Atlantic, the quietness of the almost complete secluded location, the by succulents impressed, exotic and tropical-looking atmosphere of the arid zone of La Palma, the year-round warmth, the benefits of Canarian styled architecture in combination with a modern and bright floor plan? You also want to have enough space for creative activities and not give up your own guest area by permanent residence? Then you should look at this villa, built in 2004.
In the center of the house is a large pyramid of light over the dining area that provides comfortable light. From the large windows of the living area you look directly on the sea. The floor, wall and work surfaces of the kitchen and bathrooms are made of stoneware (Gres de Aragón) and underline the rustic character of the house. The living area is completely surrounded by terraces, which are coated by Solnhofer tiles. With the exception of the bathrooms and the dining area, all rooms have direct access to the terraces.
On the west terrace is a large pergola with a fixed roof. The kitchen terrace is shaded by a pergola with stable airy bamboo mats. Further adjoining rooms are a pantry, a utility room with access to the courtyard area and below the west terrace a hobby room that can be used as another bedroom and currently serves as a music studio.
The south-facing guest area with a private bathroom and a small kitchen can also be separated, for example, for the use to accommodate a caregiver.
A key design feature of the design of the plan was the niches for the built-in cupboards to improve the Canarian wooden roofs of rooms to their best advantage. The large garage can be used for parking or as a hobby workshop just as for storing garden equipment. The garden blends harmoniously into the original, volcanic, overgrown with gorse and Canarian lavender landscape. The lively mix of palm trees, some flowering trees and shrubs, cacti and endemic plants allows the easy care maintenance of the garden. A special attraction is the everywhere visible pahoehoe-lava, which is rarely found in private gardens.
Equipment
The exterior walls of the house are made of 25-cm hollow blocks with three chambers. The flat roof is laid out with 4-inch rigid foam boards for thermal insulation. The windows are from German production and are fitted with double glazing. Next to the stove between kitchen and living area are in the two northern bed/workrooms air conditioner offering heating, cooling and dehumidification. The heating facilities are complemented by two mobile gas catalyt ovens. Several decentralized electric boilers serve for water heating. The largest boiler on the flat roof with 100 l capacity has a 250-m-PVC pipe coil as a forerun, so the water is preheated in the sunlight. Tap- and garden water is stored above the access road in a tank with 50 m³ capacity. The inflow occurs regularly with gallery water (1/4 l / min) of the water company Minaderos. There is also access to the public mains of the municipality of Los Llanos, so that if necessary city water can be fed into the tank or directly into the house. On the north side of the house is an outdoor shower. The house has a three-phase connection with 13,15 kW power rating. The telephone connection is realized with the radio system TRAC - it is charged according to fixed networks. The Internet connection is via a USB modem, the in-house forwarding via wireless router and a power line system (LAN connection via power lines). The satellite system for TV reception has 8 connections inside the house incl. the hobby room.
